New to Grow
I am a bilingual psychotherapist, member of the Latine and LGBTQIA+ community who approaches wellness with a holistic view that honors the mind, body, and spirit. I enjoy speaking about the science side of therapy, and how everything impacts our brains and bodies. I also know that not everything always makes sense or has words that can explain what is going on. I enjoy learning, being in nature, and giving animals pets.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session is getting to know each other, I will come in with questions that will help us form a treatment plan and next steps in your therapy journey. Sometimes we have an idea of what we want to work on/talk about, sometimes we need to vent and then see what we can do. I also like keeping things open if you have any questions for me, about treatment options, or the process.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I have a wide range of trainings and knowledge, but it is also very specific to trauma and the mind-body connections. There is always room for exploration
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I am passionate in sitting with and uplifting the voices and hearts of my immigrant and first generation community. I aim to offer affirming care that honors intersectional identities and lived experiences of those navigating trauma while acknowledging the impact of systems of oppression. I am intentional in finding ways to decolonize wellness and integrate practices that serve each person’s lived experience and current needs. Individually, my hope is to create a space where people feel seen, supported, and encouraged to heal and thrive in life.
Brainspotting
I find that brainspotting is pretty fluid and can be used during the session or to explore deeper certain topics
EMDR
EMDR has a protocol where we can have an idea on how our sessions will look like as we move through the treatment
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
Our culture and life experiences are key elements that should be woven into how we do therapy so that it is realistic and honors what we value.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
I like using parts work as a way to frame our experiences in our roles as well as any contradictory thoughts that sometimes show up
Trauma Informed Care
Regardless of the diagnosis, I approach treatment with a view on how trauma could have impacted the way we navigate situations
