In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Starting counseling can feel both hopeful and uncertain—and that’s completely normal. My goal is to make your first session as welcoming and comfortable as possible. In our first meeting, we’ll spend time getting to know each other and discussing what brings you to counseling. I’ll ask questions to better understand your concerns, your background, and what you hope to gain from therapy. You don’t need to prepare anything or have all the answers—just come as you are. This session is also a chance for you to get a feel for who I am and how I work. You’re welcome to ask questions about me personally, about the counseling process, my approach, or anything else that will help you feel more at ease. Together, we’ll begin setting meaningful goals for your healing journey. Above all, expect a safe, non-judgmental space where your story is honored, your pace is respected, and you are met with compassion. From day one, my focus is to help you feel heard, supported, and empowered to move forward.

Over the years, I’ve found CBT to be an effective, structured approach that empowers individuals to identify and challenge negative thought patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and make meaningful behavioral changes that promote emotional balance.

Trauma Informed Care

My approach to Trauma-Informed Care is to recognize and respect that many individuals carry the invisible weight of past trauma into their present experiences. My training and ongoing work in this method have taught me to prioritize safety, trust, and understanding that behaviors often stem from adaptive responses to past harm. In practice, this means I intentionally create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel seen, heard, and respected. I pay close attention to triggers, boundaries, and pace-allowing clients to guide the process in a way that feels secure and empowering for them. Trauma-Informed Care isn’t just a method—it’s about meeting people where they are, honoring their resilience, and walking alongside them as they reclaim their sense of safety, identity, and wholeness.

I offer faith-based therapy for clients who desire to incorporate their spiritual beliefs—particularly Christian faith—into the healing process.
