Hello, I am a person who prioritizes the help of others. It is a very important passion I have in my life. I am a nerd at heart with a lot of different interest but also enjoy sports and physical activity in my spare time. I am easy going and understanding of others and work to connect with my clients as a person and a professional. I accept all forms of feedback and view the therapeutic alliance as a partnership. I love learning all I can from others and look forward to meeting new clients.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
First session serves as an introduction for me to better understand you and works as a place for you to get your bearings and develop comfort and familiarity. We will go over background information, what pushed you to seek out counseling, and maybe a side stop to discuss interests. My number one goal in session one is to create an inviting experience and getting on the same page for what we expect and desire from our meetings. At the end I will ask for feedback and will be open to adapting my style in any reasonable way that suits you.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I aim to best help by offering a space to feel safe and secure while sharing details about oneself. I like to be curious and open while offering a different perspective to best benefit the client in that moment. I focus on providing aid that meets the requirements of the individual on a personal level.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
Ideally I work well with clients who desire a change of any kind in their life. Whether it be a personal change or changing external factors. I work well with individuals who are looking to grow and ready to invest in themselves and their own peace of mind. During clinical work I view myself through the metaphoric lens of a GPS guiding the driver of the car. I offer possible choices and directions to go but it is up to the driver to decide which direction is best for them. Different things work for different people and I am here to accommodate for those factors.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
We utilize IFS to better understand our internal workings. Develop more positive relationships with different aspects of ourselves and fast track the healing of traumatic events through meaningful experiential discussions with our self's different parts and develop a better understanding of why we do the things that we do both consciously and unconsciously.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
With CBT we will work on how to best recognize and affect your internal and external environments. We will work to analyze black and white thinking and utilize practice of alternative thoughts and other ways to challenge our ways of thinking to better ourselves and reduce daily stressors.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
Using DBT we will work on stress tolerance and understanding our different emotional states. We will utilize mindfulness methods to change how we view emotions and how our emotions impact our mental processes. We will work on ways to let our our emotions in constructive ways to reduce the build up of stress.
