I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Life Coach. I work with adolescents and adults who feel emotionally overwhelmed, misunderstood, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. I am EMDR-informed, TF-CBT certified, and facilitate DBT skills groups, allowing me to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs. I understand that reaching out for help can feel intimidating—whether you’re a teen navigating complex emotions or an adult facing long-standing challenges. At Carmelita’s Couch, I offer a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore experiences, build insight, and develop healthier coping strategies. Through individual therapy and group sessions, I work collaboratively with clients to foster connection, resilience, and meaningful change. When you’re ready, I’m here to help you take that first step.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and lay the foundation for therapy. We’ll talk about what brought you in, your current concerns, and what you’re hoping to work on. I’ll ask questions about your background, mental health history, relationships, and any major life stressors to better understand your experiences. We’ll also review confidentiality, consent, and how therapy works, and you’ll have space to ask any questions you may have. There’s no pressure to share everything at once—this session moves at your pace. My goal is to create a safe, supportive environment and begin developing a plan that fits your needs and goals.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal clients are adolescents and adults who feel emotionally overwhelmed, misunderstood, or stuck in patterns that are impacting their relationships, self-worth, or daily functioning. They may struggle with anxiety, emotional regulation, trauma, or difficulty expressing their needs, and are ready to engage honestly in the therapeutic process—even if they’re unsure where to start. I work best with individuals who are open to self-reflection and willing to build insight and skills over time. Whether you’re a teen navigating identity and emotional challenges, or an adult working through long-standing patterns, my approach is collaborative, structured, and grounded in evidence-based care.
