Hi there! I'm Jessica. I want to personally welcome you to the journey. I deeply believe that therapy is an intimate journey into the self. I followed my own inner calling to become a therapist and am honored to be able to do this work. I have a firm belief that experiencing life without developing your own meaning, being your most authentic self, and practicing presence daily is quite fruitless, joyless, and confusing. I help my clients move past their fears and get moving on their goals to be their best version of their best selves to live a more balance authentic life. I have over 22 years of counseling experience beginning with my work as a social worker with at-risk youth in 2002. I have since worked in various settings including agencies, group practices, schools (as both a school counselor and mental health professional), homes, and communities with all age ranges. I currently see adults with a variety of issues some of which include: life transitional struggles, stress, anxiety, depression, parenting issues. caregiver stress, autism, attention deficit disorders, family/relationship issues, spiritual awakening issues, post-traumatic stress, childhood trauma, and relational trauma. I am also well versed in supporting those clients who were victims of emotional and mental abuse. I enjoy helping my clients unravel harmful patterns that are blocking them from their most ideal, authentic, and balanced life. We will actively address the holy trinity of total wellness for you (mind, body, and soul) while we co-create your goals for your therapeutic journey.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Clients can expect a comfortable first session with some occasional questions to clarify history, current issues, and treatment goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My strengths lie in supporting my adult clients to cycle break the patterns coming from childhood trauma and relational trauma. I am able to support my clients to dig deeper into those patterns to become more aware, teach them the tools, and then to use the tools practiced in therapy to break the cycle. I also specialize with parents of autistic children to reduce caregiver stress, boundary setting, and increase self care. I am uniquely qualified as the parent of an autistic child, have extensive training as a family therapist(specific to families with an autistic child) and am a former school counselor. I bring all of that into session. I specialize in supporting people going through all types of life transitional struggles (career, college, etc) as well spiritual awakenings.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with parents with life stressors to improve their self care and overall work/life balance. My clients are eager to improve, but don't yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed and anxious about their various responsibilities. I also enjoy working with adults going through major life transitions. I also specialize in working with parents of autistic and neurodivergent children.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use cognitive behavioral therapy in a very organic, natural way throughout sessions. I use it to structure my sessions at times. I do not assign homework(unless asked for it) but do provide the psychoeducation regarding CBT and allow clients to examine from a CBT perspective any harmful thoughts or patterns which are leading to imbalanced thinking, feelings, and behaviors.

Trauma Informed Care

I have extensive training and work experience in trauma informed care modalities.

Family Therapy

I am extensively trained in family therapy and was a family therapist in the past. I use that training to inform a more holistic approach to an adult client's ongoing and family origin issues throughout our sessions. Many adults are not aware of how their family dynamics both past and current are impacting their current mindset, dysfunctional patterns, and impacting their current life. My family therapy training often helps bring some of this to their awareness gently and with intent to cycle break these patterns.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use solutions focused therapy in most sessions. I am highly trained in this approach. I also use motivational interviewing techniques to support my clients to find their own solutions to their current and past issues.
