New to Grow
My name is Kumeh Bestman. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 8 years of experience. I provide therapeutic services to diverse populations, including couples, individuals, and groups. I have worked in a variety of different therapeutic settings including psychiatric hospitals, residential treatment facilities, correctional institutions, and outpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment centers. My specialization is in group and individual therapy, aiming to alleviate symptoms, improve daily functioning, and enhance quality of life.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In the first session, I focus primarily on building rapport while providing a warm, welcoming, and safe environment to foster a therapeutic alliance. Also, expect to cover necessary administrative requirements including reviewing informed consent, discussing expectations/roles, and exploring the reasons for seeking therapy.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I am a compassionate therapist dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges while enhancing self-understanding. I provide a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your experiences, strengthen coping skills, and work toward meaningful change. My approach is client-centered and tailored to your unique needs. I draw from evidenced based practices while honoring the importance of empathy, trust, and our therapeutic relationship.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
For the past eight years, I’ve worked with young adults and adults navigating a range of mental health challenges, including psychosis, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression, personality and mood disorders, social anxiety, and difficulties with motivation. My approach integrates both evidence-based and creative therapeutic methods.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have seven years of experience with utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a highly collaborative, structured, and evidence-based approach to decrease and manage symptoms of depression, anxiety, and trauma. This approach empowers my clients to principle that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected, and that by changing unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors, we can improve our emotional state.
