Hi! My name is Brittany Perez and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist in Northern California. I am a first generation bi-cultural therapist who has worked in the Mental Health field for the past 8 years serving a variety of different cultures with moderate to severe mental health disorders in different community settings. I have experience in working with children, teens, transitional age youth, families, and adults. I have clinical experience in working with underserved populations with a different array of complex trauma, life experiences, homelessness, substance abuse, and system involved with the criminal justice system and child welfare. With my diverse background, personal, and professional experience I can relate to others and assist my clients to a road to resiliency, healing, and self-fulfillment.
In our first session, we will work on building our therapeutic relationship and exploring challenges that you would like to work on to build trust and safety. I believe in the importance of self-autonomy and will let you set the pace to your own self-discovery. I will work collaboratively with you to alleviate any stressors that are impeding your personal success. From our very first session and throughout our course together we will also develop a transition plan, so you are prepared with the necessary tools to maintain your progress.
I have extensive experience in working with clients who have challenging needs in complex environments. I can think outside of the of the box and find creative ways to help clients meet their identified goals, needs and build on their current strengths. I am very passionate in helping others in a personal and empathic way. I am easy to talk to and can easily relate to others.
I love engaging with my clients in a supportive and welcoming approach. I base my treatment approach to each of my client's individual needs. I provide a safe and warm environment that helps my clients feel respected and open. I have a very personable and relatable approach which helps others break down any barriers or challenges they may face. I work collaboratively with my clients to build upon the skills they already possess, assist in building insight, and teaching coping skills to help obtain healing and personal achievement.
I have worked with a variety of different clients in different settings. I have worked in different community based programs working with children, teens, TAY youth, and adults. I like to work with clients to have a better understanding of how their thoughts and beliefs can effect their actions and behaviors.
I like to help clients identify what strengths and skills they already posses to assist them in navigating through difficult times and self discovery. Building upon their strengths can help empower and encourage their journey to self fulfillment.
