I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 12 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of mental health settings. My professional background includes in home therapy, outpatient therapy, intensive outpatient programs, psychiatric emergency rooms, and children’s shelters. This diverse experience allows me to support clients with a wide range of concerns, from everyday stress and emotional overwhelm to more complex life challenges and transitions. Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, especially if you are unsure where to begin or feel disconnected from yourself. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you can feel heard, respected, and understood. Therapy is a collaborative process, and together we will identify your goals and work at a pace that feels comfortable and meaningful for you. In our work together, we will focus on building practical coping skills to help you manage emotions, reduce stress, and feel more grounded in your daily life. We will explore patterns that may be contributing to distress and develop strategies that support emotional regulation, self awareness, and healthier responses to challenges. I emphasize tools that can be applied outside of sessions so therapy continues to support you in real world situations. I also believe self care should be realistic and sustainable. Rather than adding pressure, we will focus on practices that genuinely support your mental and emotional well being. Therapy is not about changing who you are, but about strengthening your ability to cope, increasing confidence, and reconnecting with your values. You do not need to have everything figured out to begin. If you are seeking support, clarity, and lasting growth, I would be honored to work with you.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In your first session, we will focus on helping you feel comfortable and supported while getting to know what brings you to therapy. We will talk about your current concerns, what you are hoping to gain from counseling, and any questions you may have about the process. I may ask about your background and past experiences to better understand you as a whole person, but there is no pressure to share more than you are ready for. The session will move at a pace that feels manageable for you, and my goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard and understood while we begin to identify goals and next steps for our work together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What stands out about my therapeutic approach is that it is collaborative, practical, and tailored to each individual’s needs. I combine evidence-based techniques with a compassionate, client-centered style, helping clients build real-world coping skills that they can use outside of sessions. I focus on emotional awareness, self-care, and strategies for managing stress, anxiety, or difficult life transitions, all while meeting clients where they are and moving at a pace that feels safe. Clients often tell me that they leave sessions feeling understood, more in control of their emotions, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives. My goal is not just short-term relief but lasting growth, increased resilience, and a stronger sense of confidence in navigating life’s challenges.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to work with clients who are ready to explore their emotions, manage stress, and create meaningful change in their lives. I support children, adolescents, and adults who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, life transitions, family conflict, difficulties in relationships, etc. My ideal clients are those who are open to self-reflection, willing to try practical strategies for coping and growth, and motivated to take steps toward their personal goals. Whether you are looking to build emotional resilience, develop healthier ways to manage your feelings, or strengthen your sense of self, I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space to help you feel heard, understood, and empowered throughout your therapy journey.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

My experience has exposed me to many different therapeutic techniques, which allows me to draw from multiple approaches to meet the unique needs of each client. My eclectic approach means that I do not rely on a single method or framework. Instead, I tailor therapy to fit your individual goals, personality, and situation. This may include cognitive-behavioral strategies to challenge unhelpful thoughts, mindfulness and relaxation techniques to manage stress, solution-focused strategies to work toward concrete goals, or narrative approaches to explore and reframe life experiences. The focus is always on what will help you feel understood, supported, and equipped to make meaningful changes in your life. Using an eclectic approach allows therapy to be flexible and responsive. It ensures that we can adapt to what works best for you rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all method. My goal is to help you develop practical coping skills, increase self-awareness, strengthen resilience, and ultimately feel more in control of your emotions and your life.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

My approach with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is practical, collaborative, and goal-oriented. CBT focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, helping clients identify patterns that may contribute to distress and develop healthier ways of thinking and responding. In sessions, I work with clients to set clear, achievable goals and practice skills that can be used in daily life. This might include challenging unhelpful thoughts, learning relaxation techniques, problem-solving, or developing strategies for managing difficult emotions. Using CBT allows clients to gain insight, increase self-awareness, and build practical tools for coping with challenges. My goal is to help you feel more in control of your emotions, reduce stress, and make meaningful changes that support long-term growth and well-being.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

My approach with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is structured, supportive, and skills-based. DBT focuses on helping clients build emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness skills. In sessions, I work collaboratively with clients to identify areas where they feel stuck or overwhelmed and teach practical strategies they can use in real-life situations. We also explore how to balance acceptance of current experiences with efforts toward positive change. Using DBT allows clients to gain tools for managing strong emotions, reduce self-defeating behaviors, and improve relationships, while fostering greater self-compassion and resilience. My goal is to help you feel more in control of your emotions, handle challenges with confidence, and create lasting, meaningful change in your life.
