Life is very challenging and sometimes it feels like the weight of the world is on your shoulders. Perhaps you are stressed, feeling down, or dealing with unforeseen circumstances. I am here to help guide you to self-discovery and find the answers or solutions with support. My counseling style is laid back and eclectic. My focus is to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. I consider myself to be warm, approachable, supportive, caring, empathetic, and compassionate. I look forward to helping you by providing and equipping you with the tools to help you cope with your issues and concerns.
In our first session, we will talk about your concerns overall. We will set expectations and do some goal setting. One of the main goals is to start building a rapport between us. My goal is to make sure you are comfortable and feel welcome to express anything that you have on your mind. I know that sometimes the thought of talking to a therapist is scary and intimidating, but I hope that after we first meet, all your fears have subsided.
I specialize in the areas of anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and family issues. I also have experience providing individual, group, family and couples therapy in the areas of victimization, trauma, coping skills, forgiveness, self-esteem, conflict resolution, trauma, grief, and family reunification.
I love working with clients who prefer a non-directive approach; value diverse therapeutic approaches; and who can appreciate and need a relaxed therapeutic environment. I am best positioned to serve clients who are excited about positive change and opened to growth and willing to put in the work. I love working with clients who are self-motivated as well, and those who just want a listening ear! My space is a comfortable, non-judgmental space.
I use CBT to help clients identify and reframe unhelpful thought patterns that impact emotions and behaviors. My approach is structured and collaborative, focusing on building insight into the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions. I often assign practical tools such as thought records or behavior tracking to encourage skill-building between sessions. My goal is to help clients develop healthier coping strategies and long-term emotional resilience.
I incorporate DBT techniques to help clients manage intense emotions, set boundaries, and improve relationship patterns. Through mindfulness and distress-tolerance skills, clients learn to respond to challenges with greater balance and control.
I use ACT to help clients reduce avoidance, increase self-acceptance, and take action aligned with their personal values. This helps them move toward meaningful change even when difficult emotions arise.
My approach is grounded in Person-Centered principles, offering clients a safe and nonjudgmental space to explore their emotions and grow at their own pace.
