Kim Vidoni
Thanks for visiting my profile! My therapeutic approach is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and evidence-based practices tailored to meet your unique needs. I prioritize creating a safe and non-judgmental space where you can explore your challenges and goals openly. Utilizing techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and brain-based therapies, I work with you to develop practical strategies for managing life's challenges, enhancing resilience, and fostering personal growth. Together, we'll navigate your journey toward healing and empowerment, focusing on achieving meaningful and sustainable changes in your life.
First session
In our first session, we'll get to know each other and I'll listen to what's brought you to therapy and what you're hoping to get out of it. There's no pressure to share more than you're ready to; we'll go at your pace. I'll ask some questions to better understand your background, your current challenges, and your goals, so we can begin to map out a path forward together. My goal for that first meeting is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and hopeful that change is possible.
Strengths
I bring kindness, genuine curiosity, and a deep respect for the resilience you carry, even when you can't see it yourself. Because I maintain a small caseload, I'm able to give you my full attention and show up consistently as a real, invested presence in your care. I tailor my approach to you specifically, drawing on a range of evidence-based methods so that our work together is practical, meaningful, and grounded in what actually helps. Most importantly, I show up as a real human being, someone who will sit with you in the hard moments and help you find your way through them.
Ideal clients
I work with adults 18 and older of all gender identities and sexual orientations who are navigating some of life's most challenging experiences, including grief and loss, chronic illness, medical trauma, anxiety, major life transitions, or simply feeling stuck and ready for something to change. My ideal client is someone who is carrying a weight they're tired of carrying alone, someone who is ready to be honest with themselves, open to new perspectives, and willing to do the work even when it feels uncomfortable. You may not know exactly what you need yet, and that's okay. What matters is that you're ready to show up, explore what's holding you back, and take meaningful steps toward a more balanced, fulfilling life.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help clients identify the thoughts and beliefs that are driving their anxiety, self-doubt, and emotional distress. Together, we examine patterns like overthinking, perfectionism, and people-pleasing, and work to replace them with more balanced perspectives and practical coping tools. My goal is to help clients build lasting insight and skills so they can feel more grounded, confident, and in control of their daily lives.
Mind-body approach
I believe the mind and body are deeply connected, and I bring that perspective into all of my work. When clients are dealing with chronic health challenges, medical trauma, grief, or stress, I help them tend to both the emotional weight and the physical experience of what they're going through. Using mindfulness, nervous system regulation techniques, and brain-based strategies, I help clients build resilience, restore a sense of balance, and feel more at home in their bodies and their lives.
