New to Grow
I’m a licensed therapist who combines straight talk, deep empathy, and a bit of humor to help people untangle the patterns that keep them stuck and build lives that actually fit them. I work collaboratively and experientially—pulling from CBT, DBT, and narrative approaches—to help you make sense of your story, strengthen your resilience, and create practical change in the real world.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, we’ll ease in like two people getting to know a new friend, not like a formal interview or medical exam. I’ll ask about what’s been going on in your life, what you’re hoping for from therapy, and a bit of your story, but the tone is relaxed—more like two close friends talking honestly about life than being put under a microscope.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My greatest strength is that I’m deeply real with my clients: I don’t sugarcoat or bullshit, and I’ll tell you the truth even when it’s uncomfortable—while staying on your side the entire time. Clients often describe my style as “heading toward the pain together”: I help you get as close to the hard stuff as you can manage, stay with you there, then use warmth and humor to ease the sting so you can build emotional muscle and tolerance over time.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work best with people who are thoughtful, curious, and ready to do more than just “cope” — folks who want to understand the deeper patterns in their lives and actually change them. My ideal clients may be dealing with trauma, anxiety, burnout, or big life transitions, but they’re willing to be honest, experiment with new ways of thinking and relating, and build a life that feels more aligned, grounded, and alive.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT as a flexible framework to help clients notice the links between their thoughts, emotions, and actions, then run real‑life “experiments” that build evidence for new, more resilient beliefs. Rather than focusing on worksheets or a rigid protocol, I integrate CBT thinking tools into a deeply relational, narrative process so clients can genuinely own and live their new perspectives.
Narrative
I help clients notice the “story” they’ve been living in, then collaboratively rewrite that narrative so they see themselves as capable, resourceful protagonists rather than as broken or doomed. We examine key memories, patterns, and identities, and consciously author new meanings that better fit who they are becoming now.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I selectively use DBT skills to give clients simple, memorable tools (like grounding, ABC, or STOP‑style pauses) that help them ride out big emotions without getting swept away. Instead of running the full manual, I fold DBT techniques into ongoing conversations so they feel natural, personalized, and easy to use in real life.
