New to Grow
Hi! I’m Claire Madel, and I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist. I’m passionate about helping people feel more connected with themselves so they can create meaningful and lasting change in their life and relationships. My approach to therapy is caring, collaborative, and grounded in building a strong, trusting relationship with each client. Through this supportive and nonjudgmental environment, I help clients navigate challenges, strengthen relationships, and develop greater self-understanding in themselves.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, you can expect a relaxed, welcoming conversation focused on getting to know you and what brings you to therapy. I’ll ask questions about your current concerns, your goals, and a bit about your background so I can better understand how to support you. Most importantly, this session is a chance for you to see if you feel comfortable and heard.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
What stands out about my approach is the way I help clients understand how past relationships and early attachment experiences shape their present-day emotions, choices, and relationships. From a psychodynamic lens, we look beneath current struggles to explore the deeper patterns that developed over time. As these patterns become clearer within the safety of our therapeutic relationship, clients often experience greater self-compassion, healthier connections, and a stronger sense of freedom in their daily lives.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work best with clients who are ready to look beneath the surface of their struggles and explore the patterns that keep them feeling stuck. Whether you’re hoping to reduce anxiety, improve relationships, heal from past trauma, or build greater confidence and balance, I offer a compassionate, thoughtful space to help you get there.
Psychodynamic
Psychodynamic therapy focuses on understanding the deeper patterns that shape how you think, feel, and relate to others. Many of these patterns began in early relationships and continue to influence your life in ways you may not fully realize. In our work together, we’ll explore these themes thoughtfully and at your pace, connecting past experiences to what’s happening now.
EMDR
I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which is a type of therapy specifically for clients who feel held back by past trauma or overwhelming experiences. EMDR can be a highly effective tool in the way that it helps reduce emotional distress, strengthen coping, and create new, healthier ways of relating to yourself and the world around you.
