I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 28 years of comprehensive clinical and leadership experience. These experiences gave me the opportunity to work with adults, adolescents, children and families in both individual and group settings. I value and approach each individual therapeutic relationship fully and empathize with the different spectrum of emotions that a Client may experience during the course of treatment. I firmly believe each individual has the ability and strength to overcome their struggles, but that sometimes having additional support in the form of therapy can assist one to better identify and recognize the skills, strategies and strengths they already possess. It takes courage to make the first steps towards a healthier and happier life and I would be honored to assist you in your process. Remember you are only human!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first assessment session is designed to be a supportive exploratory introduction to therapy. This session is all about creating a safe, welcoming environment where you can openly share what brought you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. We’ll discuss your current concerns, whether they’re related to stress, relationships, past experiences, emotions, or general life challenges. I want to hear about what you’re going through in your own words, and there’s no need to go deeper than what feels comfortable at this stage. During this session, I will ask questions to learn more about your background and experiences, such as significant events or relationships, personal history, any previous therapy you may have had, and even general aspects of your daily life that may impact your mental health, like work, hobbies, and routines. This helps us understand the larger context of your life, giving a fuller picture of where you are today. We’ll also discuss any patterns or themes you may have noticed in your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors—things like frequent worries, repeated stress triggers, or emotional responses that concern you. Understanding these patterns is key to identifying areas of focus, but there’s no pressure to have everything “figured out” right now. This session is more about gathering information to get a holistic view of your experiences.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I truly value and approach each individual therapeutic relationship fully and empathize with the different spectrum of emotions that a Client may experience during the course of treatment. I firmly believe each individual has the ability and strength to overcome their struggles, but that sometimes having additional support can assist one to better identify and recognize skills, strategies and strengths they already possess while developing new tools to further assist in the development of one's psychological flexibility.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with young adults, professionals, parents and older people who feel overwhelmed, exhausted, having irrational or negative thoughts, or people who are experiencing some kind of trauma, or are grieving the loss of someone or something. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed, or anxious about moving forward, and many times don’t see how to move forward.
