LPC, 10 years of experience
Greetings! I’m Letitia, a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Georgia, and also licensed to provide therapy in Colorado and Florida. I’m passionate about helping clients discover their purpose, break through barriers that hold them back, and begin living the life they’ve always imagined. Before becoming a counselor, I spent 12 years as an educator, which gave me a deep understanding of the academic, social, and emotional challenges that young people face. Today, I work with clients ages 10 through 35, supporting them through the pivotal transitions of adolescence, young adulthood, and early professional life. I understand how it feels to struggle with fear, depression, anxiety, low confidence, or a lack of purpose — because I’ve been there myself. These personal experiences allow me to bring empathy, authenticity, and real-world perspective into every session. With over a decade of experience in the mental health field, I’ve had the privilege of helping individuals overcome depression, anxiety, ADHD, PMDD, phobias, PTSD, and trauma. I also work with clients coping with grief, relationship challenges, and substance use concerns, as well as those seeking clarity in college, career, and personal growth. My therapeutic approach is integrative, compassionate, and eclectic, blending evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and trauma-informed care. I use humor, authenticity, and flexibility to create a space where clients can feel comfortable being themselves while working toward lasting change. Clients can expect a warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative environment where we’ll uncover strengths, challenge limiting beliefs, and develop practical tools for emotional balance and growth. Together, we’ll create a path toward a more confident, fulfilled, and purpose-driven life.
Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin building a foundation of trust. I’ll start by reviewing confidentiality, explaining how therapy works, and answering any questions you might have. You (or your child) will have the opportunity to share what brought you to therapy—what’s been challenging, what’s going well, and what you hope to change or better understand. There’s no pressure to share everything at once; we’ll move at a pace that feels safe and comfortable. Together, we’ll begin identifying therapy goals, such as improving mood, managing stress or anxiety, building coping skills, or strengthening communication and relationships. I’ll also explain my approach, which combines empathy with practical, evidence-based strategies like CBT, mindfulness, and strengths-based work. If I’m working with a child or teen, part of the session may include play, drawing, or conversation to help them open up naturally. Caregivers are included for portions of early sessions to provide background and discuss ways to support progress at home. By the end of our first meeting, we’ll have a clearer understanding of your needs and next steps. You may leave feeling lighter, reflective, or even a little tired—all of which are normal. Between sessions, I may suggest reflection questions, grounding tools, or small exercises to help you continue your growth outside of therapy.
My counseling style is eclectic. This way I can adapt to the unique needs of each specific client, depending on the problem, the treatment goals, and the person’s expectations and motivation. I utilize a variety of different techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, stress management, increasing self-worth, family systems, incorporation of meditation, mind/body connection, mood management, anxiety reduction, empowerment, and school and/or work/life balance. I am also a believer in holistic health, mindfulness and health and fitness.
My experiences have shaped me into an empathetic, caring and non-judgmental clinician. I bring authenticity, warmth, and a down-to-earth approach that helps clients feel comfortable opening up. My background as both a licensed therapist and former educator allows me to explain concepts clearly and use psychoeducation to make therapy practical and empowering. I’m skilled at creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore emotions honestly while also learning coping strategies they can apply in daily life. I balance empathy with gentle accountability, helping clients feel supported yet motivated to grow. My biggest strengths are teaching insight, building rapport quickly, and helping clients rediscover confidence, clarity, and self-worth.
