LCSW-C, 8 years of experience
I'm Jessica Flowers an LCSW-C in Maryland with years of experience in mental health and medical social work. I work with adults and children providing individual, group and family sessions. I work with Clients by helping them tackle issues related to anxiety, depression, PTSD, family issues, domestic violence, pregnancy concerns, grief, women's health, self-esteem, oppositional behavior, ADHD, and more. I am committed to helping clients overcome challenges and achieve personal growth.
In your first session, we’ll focus on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. You can expect a safe, nonjudgmental space to share your experiences, challenges, and goals. Together, we’ll explore your current struggles, patterns in your thoughts and emotions, and any factors that may be impacting your well-being. I’ll also explain my approach to therapy and answer any questions you have, so you leave with a clear sense of how we can work together. By the end of the session, we’ll start identifying initial steps and strategies to help you begin moving toward your goals.
My therapeutic approach is collaborative, individualized, and grounded in both evidence-based techniques and a deep respect for each client’s unique experiences. I blend cognitive-behavioral strategies, mindfulness practices, and trauma-informed interventions to help clients gain insight, regulate emotions, and build practical coping skills. What sets my approach apart is my focus on empowering clients to reconnect with their strengths and values while navigating life’s challenges, whether that involves managing mood disorders, overcoming trauma, or improving day-to-day functioning. Clients often report feeling more self-aware, resilient, and capable of making meaningful changes in their personal and professional lives as a result of our work together.
I work best with adults and adolescents who are navigating mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, and challenges with emotional regulation or self-identity. I am especially suited to clients who are motivated to explore their feelings, gain insight into patterns that affect their well-being, and develop practical strategies for coping and growth. My approach is collaborative and strengths-based, helping clients identify personal values, build resilience, and create meaningful changes in their daily lives. Whether you’re struggling with managing day-to-day stress, seeking support for depression or bipolar disorder, or working to recover from past trauma, I aim to provide a supportive and nonjudgmental space where you can better understand yourself and move toward your goals.
I have extensive experience using evidence-based methods such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based interventions, and trauma-informed care to support clients in managing mood disorders, anxiety, and emotional regulation challenges. My approach is collaborative and tailored to each client’s unique needs—I combine structured techniques with an empathetic, strengths-based perspective to help clients understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I prioritize creating a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore challenges, practice new coping skills, and work toward meaningful, sustainable change in their daily lives.
