New to Grow
Hello! I am glad that you are here with me. My name is Lauryn and I have been working in the mental health space for near 15 years. Starting with the school district, and moving into the state, and then into community mental health, I have an eclectic work history that has served people of Nevada from birth and well through adulthood. A graduate of University of Nevada Reno for both my Bachelors in Psychology in 2009 and my Masters in Social Work in 2019, I have been a resident of Nevada my whole life. I have lived both rurally and in the urban space and understand deeply the unique positives and challenges has in each area of Nevada.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
During our first session, and my goal for our first few sessions is to get to know who you are, and what brings you to seek out therapeutic services. My clinical approach relies on developing a solid therapeutic rapport as the basis of the our ongoing therapeutic relationship.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My approach is person centered and draws on an eclectic array of treatment approaches, and my main goal always is what works best for you in this space. I use a variety of approaches to meet you where you are at in your treatment journey. I like to think of it as you are the captain of your own ship, and I am here to help you learn how to navigate what can be the rough waters of life as you are learning to navigate on your own and be supportive in your journey as we go.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal client is a client that wants to be here, and wants to work on their own discovery. The biggest hurdle in the beginning is showing up for yourself. The rest we can work on together as we go.
Eclectic
I use a variety of treatment modalities to meet each individual client where they are at based on their unique needs. It is important to me to not be constrained by one specific modality as people's ongoing needs are dynamic and may need a different approach based on a wide variety of circumstances.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Tenet of DBT, I have extensive training in mindfulness based approaches.
