LPC, 11 years of experience
Hello! I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in PA, and I’m currently accepting new virtual clients. I earned my Master's in Mental Health Counseling and Addiction Studies Certificate in 2015 and have worked in substance use disorder and mental health treatment since 2014. I have a passion for working with individuals from dysfunctional or addicted family systems, as well as those navigating codependency. I believe that understanding the dynamics of relationships is crucial for healing and growth. My goal is to provide a safe space where you can explore these patterns and develop healthier connections. I also enjoy supporting individuals at all stages of addiction recovery. This might mean you are wanting to explore your relationship with substances, have recently completed inpatient treatment, or need assistance in creating a personalized relapse prevention plan — and I’m here to help!
In our first session, I will gather background information and create a supportive environment for you to explore your current feelings and challenges. Together, we will discuss your goals and develop a plan for our follow-up sessions.
My approach to therapy is collaborative and strength-based, tailored to each individual’s unique needs. I work in a direct yet supportive way, helping clients identify practical solutions and build on their existing resilience.
Many of the people I work with grew up in family systems where healthy boundaries were unclear or missing, and where open, effective communication wasn’t modeled. As adults, they often find themselves repeating patterns of people-pleasing, conflict avoidance, or difficulty expressing their needs. I also work with trauma survivors who are learning to feel safe in their own bodies and relationships again. Trauma can make it difficult to trust, to set limits, or to believe that needs matter — but healing is possible. In therapy, we gently explore how past experiences have shaped current patterns and begin to build new ways of relating that are grounded in safety, clarity, and self-respect. Boundaries and communication are not fixed traits — they’re skills that can be learned and strengthened over time. Together, we practice these tools in a supportive, nonjudgmental space, helping clients create relationships that feel balanced, authentic, and emotionally secure.
I have worked in the substance use disorder treatment field for 11 years, and typically utilize a combination of Motivational Interviewing, Relapse Prevention Therapy (RPT), Strength Based therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Psychoeducation.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients recognize the thoughts and triggers that drive their substance use or unhealthy relationship patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and build skills for long-term change.
