Have others said you need to relax or stop worrying? Are you overwhelmed by constant what ifs? Do you feel stressed or restless all the time, have difficulty relaxing or don't know how to feel more grounded? Anxiety and trauma can rob you of life's greatest joys and keep you stuck in indecision. You don't have to suffer alone. You are not broken and you are capable of change. Family systems, culture and stigma prevent people who need help from getting help. I help people tackle their anxiety with confidence, reducing doubt, fear and indecision in their lives. If you struggle with anxiety or depression including social anxiety, low self-esteem, perfectionism, excessive worrying, irritability related to parenting, employment or relationships - I'm here to help you achieve a sense of steady calm to manage all that life throws at you. My clients often struggle with crippling self-defeating thoughts that create a vicious cycle of isolation, loneliness, stress and feeling overwhelmed. I can help break that cycle and empower you to develop a new path forward to achieve what you have not wanted to face alone. When you schedule with me, I may reach out by phone to complete a brief screening to make sure I can meet your needs and send you the needed paperwork. Please know I currently work weekdays and do not have evening or weekend availability. I do not specialize or work with couples or children. I look forward to talking to you!
In our first session together, we will talk about what's been troubling you the most including what brought you to therapy, your family of origin, any previous experiences in therapy (what's worked/what hasn't), what your hopes are for how therapy will help and what my plan would be for reaching your goals. Then we will collaboratively discuss if I am the best fit for what you are looking for - you get to interview me! The most important part of finding a therapist is someone who makes you feel comfortable, safe and who is qualified to support your change efforts.
I hear from many people that previous therapists were good at listening but didn't provide tangible solutions. I consider myself to be a supportive, compassionate listener and I am also able to gently challenge and encourage you to make the change necessary to feel better. My style is casual and warm and I also discuss strategies to practice outside of session. This is your time - let's make the most of it!
I can help you address your anxiety, OCD and trauma as you become comfortable in therapy, prioritizing your mental health and addressing patterns that have held you back from the life you want to live. I trust my skills will bring symptom relief with work on both our parts. I bring compassion and skill and you bring your life experience and strengths.

Lauren is warm, kind and empathetic, whilst also challenging me to view things from a different perspective. She knows when to push me, when to pull back and when to just listen. She creates a safe space for me to be me, which is something I’ve not often experienced in my life. She takes constructive criticism well and is willing to work on herself and her therapeutic skills, when necessary. I have definitely benefited from having Lauren as my therapist. Eternally grateful 😀
I teach people how to talk back to their inner critic, understand and regulate their emotions and feel more calm and grounded. I have been using CBT since 2012 to help people with depression and anxiety.
I create a warm environment built on trust, compassion, empathy so you feel comfortable enough to open up and safe enough to create a plan for change.
I have recently been trained in Written Exposure Therapy for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or PTSD symptoms. This is a brief, 5-7 session intervention where survivors of trauma write written accounts of their trauma in session with me. This intervention has been shown to help people decrease their symptoms of PTSD and improve their quality of life, relationships, etc. I am currently accepting new clients who are interested in trying this type of treatment or who have tried other trauma-focused therapies that haven't been successful.
