New to Grow
I work alongside all my clients, collaboratively, developing goals that matter to them. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, I work on fostering a special bond between myself and each client, taking a client-centered approach that respects the unique experiences that every individual brings. I work collaboratively with clients to help set meaningful goals and offer support for a wide range of concerns, including: Anxiety, Depression, Substance Use, Bipolar Disorder, Psychotic Disorders and Autism.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. I encourage clients to express their reasons for seeking therapy, as well as asking any questions they have. I want to make sure both of us feel we are a good fit for each other.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I take a warm, empathetic approach, ensuring clients feel comfortable to open up and share. I empower clients to take control of their lives. I am reminded of the struggles that I have overcome myself and believe every person has the capacity to change.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
Based on my extensive experience in both community mental health and a private practice setting, I have worked with a wide breadth of clients. I have worked with all age ranges and various groups of people. I generally work well with individuals who are active in the therapy process, but am always open to help clients figure out what goals matter to them.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have utilized CBT for the majority of my career to great results! I often find that most clients need help challenging their thinking to help them view life's challenges in a more positive light. I empower clients to help them think in a more productive capacity. Whether it's depression or anxiety, I think true happiness begins with how we think about situations in life. I also value the unique experiences that every client brings into therapy.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I have often times used a solution focused approach to help clients narrow down what goals are important to them in life. I help clients utilize a strength-based approach to help them actualize their goals.
Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)
I have utilized ERP to help clients overcome their fears by collaboratively working to help them achieve freedom from their fears and limitations.
EMDR
I am fully EMDR trained to help people over come past trauma.
