LCSW, 21 years of experience
Hi, I'm Ms. Noemi and I am a bilingual (English & Spanish) Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) from Southern California. I've been in practice since 2003. At this time, I have a small private practice. I am currently serving children, teens, and adults. I specialize in Early Intervention, Children, and Family therapy. I provide solution-focused individual counseling to adults dealing with life changes, transitions, and boundary challenges. I graduated from Cal State University Fullerton with a Bachelor of Science in Human Services in 2003. In 2005, I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Southern California (USC). Then in 2017, I earned my PPSC with an emphasis on Child Welfare and Attendance from Cal State Long Beach (CSULB). My clinical experience was in county mental health. I specialized in the treatment of children and their families. I provided individual, group, and parenting services to high-risk communities. I used a combination of talk therapy and evidence-based treatment models to best address their mental health issues, all while collaborating with adjunct programs. I also provided Mental Health Related Services (MHRS) to students receiving counseling as part of their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). I also have 10 yrs experience working for a foster adoption agency. I contributed to promoting safety, family reunification, adoption, and supportive parenting. My love and passion is to help individuals strengthening their relationships, healing, and reaching their mental health goals. Life is hard, challenging, and sometimes just overwhelming. I would love to be a tool that you can use to help you throughout your mental health journey. NOTE: Current openings: Wed- Fridays 10:00am-3 pm.
During our first session, we will go through introductions, informed consents, limitations to confidentiality. We will also explore presenting concerns and formulate treatment goals. If we are a good fit with each other we will develop a plan of for meeting weekly, bi weekly, or as needed. Note that therapy modalities can change depending on needs and stressors. I strive to offer clients the flexibility to work around their schedule and develop a frequency that works for them. **IMPORTANT: Initial assessments/intakes with children will require parent/legal guardian participation. Custody documentation will be requested before intake when custody is shared to confirm who can request/and authorize mental health services. Please note that an adoption decree will be requested if and when appropriate. **
I take pride in offering a safe and supportive environment where clients can feel open to talk about their feelings and thoughts freely. I typically provide clients with supportive, client centered, solution focused, and CBT approaches as appropriate. I help clients explore and learn coping skills that are realistic and maintainable, all while promoting self care.
I am eager to work with clients who are willing to give therapy a try and use time in session to build on their skills, and learn new strategies for managing their life challenges.
I have been providing PCIT services wince 2012.
