New to Grow
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My clinical practice is tailored to the individual needs of each client that I treat. I am passionate about the work that I do and I am often in awe an inspired by the people I have had the honor of working with. I pride myself on providing individuals with the necessary skills to allow them the ability to cope with life's challenges.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
My focus primary focus during the first session is simply to listen and allow you to be seen. This is fostered by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and collaboratively customizing a treatment plan. I believe that you are the expert of your life and hope to join you in discovering the skills necessary to live the life that you want to live.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My greatest strength is helping clients identify the root cause of the distress and helping to develop coping skills tailored to the specific individual. I incorporate a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, Mindfulness, EMDR, narrative therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and client/person-centered therapy. I have had plenty of success in watching clients thrive, grow, and most importantly heal.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I have worked with individuals with co-occurring mental illness in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. I am comfortable and have experience in treating those with anxiety, depression, PTSD and other trauma related disorders, gender identity issues, borderline personality disorder, phobias, adjustment disorder, and addiction. I love working with marginalized individuals or individuals in the BIPOC community, who often times struggle to find a therapist to relate to their unique experiences. I am also very comfortable and enjoy working with individuals from the LGBTQIA community.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I am a therapist trained in DBT and have utilized this modality in my practice for many years. The skills taught in DBT are effective at treating a variety of different mental health disorders.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive behavior therapy is an effective modality used to identify unhealthy thoughts and behaviors to overcome barriers in mental health and develop more practical and effective solutions.
EMDR
EMDR is effective at treating PTSD and other disorders such as anxiety, depression, and phobias. EMDR helps to improve emotional regulation and coping skills.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
Solution Focused Brief Treatment is client-centered and empowering, focusing on positive change through goal setting and action plans. This modality is effective for those struggling with Anxiety and depression, Relationship difficulties, Substance use disorders, Grief and loss, and Life transitions.
