About me

My therapy approach is person-centered and integrative, drawing on a variety of techniques including cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches. I connect with clients wherever they are, embracing their values and strengths. My goal is to guide you on your journey. I enjoy hiking, being around animals, creating art, trying new foods, cooking, and spending time with loved ones. I also have a strong interest in Star Wars and Harry Potter.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first therapy session, often called an intake session, is an opportunity for you and me to get to know each other and to begin building a foundation of trust. The therapist will likely start by explaining confidentiality, what you can expect from therapy, and how sessions generally work. Next, I will ask questions to understand your background, current concerns, and goals for therapy. This might include questions about your mental health history, medical history, family, relationships, work, and any specific issues or symptoms you’re experiencing. You’ll have the chance to share what brought you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. Throughout the session, I will listen carefully, ask clarifying questions, and create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment. You’re encouraged to ask questions as well, such as about my approach or what the process will look like moving forward. By the end of the first session, we may discuss a plan for future sessions, and you’ll have a better sense of whether you feel comfortable working together. It’s normal to feel nervous or unsure at first, but the first session is about starting to build a relationship and setting the stage for your therapeutic journey.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I believe in creating a safe space where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings while working toward their personal goals. I have experience in working with substance use and addiction, complex trauma, grief, anxiety, relational issues, life transitions, post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, physical health issues, couples, identity issues, eating disorders, LGTBT+ concerns, and caregivers. I offer individual counseling to adolescents (12 and up) and adults with a special focus on working with athletes. I help guide them through their journey, whether it's dealing with injuries, improving performance, or exploring identity. My expertise also includes working with traumatic stress at all stages of life and this is a crucial part of my work.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

If you are experiencing trauma, I can help you learn to cope with your symptoms and find a new sense of self. If you are an athlete I can support you with injuries, reach peak performance, or just learn to better manage the role as an athlete.
