(she/her)
I am a clinical psychologist (Ph.D.) with over 30 years of experience. I use a variety of treatment interventions to create an individualized treatment plans and focus on collaboration and a team approach. my patients remark that I'm easy to talk to and helpful in new ways. People remark that my sense of humor and deep knowledge base are particularly effective. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for the treatment of mood disorders and I have considerable experience working with bipolar disorder. I use Dialectical Behavioral techniques to assist clients in building coping skills that focus on self soothing and emotional regulation
During the 1st session I collect information to help with diagnosis and treatment planning. I will want to know what your current complaints are and the success of any past therapy. I will also collect a brief family history and get to know your primary therapy goals. During the first session both of us are also trying to assess if we are a good fit for a therapeutic relationship
I explain what I am doing and why and give you options for treatment based on your current needs. Clients appreciate the fact that I can explain complex neurological and medical information in ways that are easy to understand
I am most effective with clients that appreciate a collaborative approach that involves psycho education and regular skill building and practice between sessions.

During session, there were the therapists family members that kept popping into session in the background. First I noticed therapists refrigerator (in the background) opening and closing, Next, I noticed a man walking back and forth. Therapist was not using ear buds and acknowledged that her family members were letting the dog in and out. Therapist kept therapy going during this time. I felt uncomfortable and felt there was zero confidentiality

Megan Anderson was not a good match for me. She attempted to correct me several times which is not a part of a therapeutic environment. Secondly, she self disclosed throughout my two sessions with me, which were inappropriate and unnecessary. At times while I was sharing she would talk over me. I have scheduled an appointment with another clinician. Thank you in advance, Cindy
