New to Grow
You matter. Your feelings matter. Your story and your healing matter. By reaching out for help, you have already taken the first brave and necessary step to self-care and personal growth. I would be honored to walk with you in your journey to better health. I use multiple therapeutic approaches to explore each person's unique needs with a mix of empathy, advocacy, humor, and realness. I have extensive experience working with individuals affected by trauma, grief, anxiety, and depression, as well as autism, ADHD, and ODD. I am trained in EMDR and offer a collaborative approach to treatment.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
First sessions can be the hardest. It took a lot for you to make the appointment and fill out all of the paperwork. We don't know each other. There may be a lot of questions we both have to get things started, and it doesn't always feel like what you might expect therapy to feel like. I want you to feel heard and safe to share at your pace.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I will always be professional and real with you. I am not perfect, do not have all the answers, and I know therapy can feel scary. I hope to bring lightness and compassion when your world feels dark and cold. I might cry with you, join in your anger, and definitely bring laughter where we can find it. We create the goals that fit you. Goals that are realistic and attainable and focus on what matters most to you.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I use multiple therapeutic approaches to explore each person's unique needs with a mix of empathy, advocacy, humor, and realness. I have decades of experience working with individuals affected by trauma, grief, anxiety, and depression, as well as autism, ADHD, and ODD. I am trained in EMDR and offer a collaborative approach to treatment.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT focuses on the connection of feelings, thoughts and behavior and by addressing negative thoughts and/or behaviors we can help improve feelings and general wellness.
EMDR
EMDR helps move past recurring or "stuck" memories through various techniques including bilateral stimulation which can help you process the memory in a calmer, more adaptive way.
Trauma Informed Care
TIC moves away from "what is wrong with you" to a healthier, more supportive stance of "what happened to you" so that we can work together to develop a path to feeling better that fits for you.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
Person-centered approach maintains that you are in charge of your treatment and your life. You are the expert and the driver in control of the direction and pace that we take together.
