Welcome! I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) based in Maryland. I have a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the George Washington University, and have been providing therapy services to a diverse range of people for over 10 years. I help adults and adolescents decrease feelings of anxiety and depression, develop healthier patterns of thinking, and process past experiences that are causing current challenges.
In our first session you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you might have, and we will explore what brings you to therapy and what changes you want to make. We will work together to start to identify your goals for therapy.
I am a compassionate, non-judgmental therapist with years of experience with a diverse range of clients. I have a lot of knowledge about mental health and success helping individuals developing healthier lives.
I love working with people who are ready to make a change but might not be sure what exactly that looks like. My clients want to better understand themselves and explore ways to be the best version of them- however each individual defines that.
I use CBT to help clients identify negative thought patterns, how these patterns affect their feelings and behaviors, and ways we can help change the negative thoughts and replace them with healthier ones.
I use Psychodynamic Therapy to explore how a person's past experiences impact their present, and work with clients to bring unconscious motivations and feelings to the surface. Once we are able to understand how the past has affected us and what some our subconscious drives are, we are better able to understand our negative patterns and begin to create new ones.
I incorporate mindfulness techniques and other coping skills to help clients decrease symptoms of anxiety and stress and be more present in daily life. I take a strengths based, person-centered approach, meeting each client where they are and deciding together what therapy treatment goals work best for their lives and abilities.
