Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

n our first session, my goal is to create a comfortable and supportive space where you feel safe to share what’s bringing you to therapy. We’ll talk about your current concerns, personal goals, and what you hope to gain from our work together. I’ll also gather some background information to better understand your experiences, strengths, and challenges. Together, we’ll begin developing a plan that feels both structured and personalized to your needs. My approach is warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental—I want you to leave the first session feeling heard, supported, and hopeful about the path ahead.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I pride myself on not being your textbook therapist—I’m warm, compassionate, and genuinely invested in your growth, but I’m also direct and honest because real change takes work. In our sessions, I’ll challenge you to look deeper, take accountability, and actively apply what we discuss outside of therapy. My approach blends evidence-based methods like CBT, DBT, EFT, and mindfulness with a down-to-earth, supportive style that helps clients feel both understood and motivated. What stands out most in my work is my ability to create a safe space for honest conversations while guiding you toward meaningful, lasting progress.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I’m best positioned to work with individuals, couples, and families experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, and relational distress. Many of my clients are high-functioning but feel emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected, or uncertain about how to move forward. My clinical focus is on helping clients build emotional regulation, improve communication, and develop healthier coping strategies through evidence-based interventions such as CBT, DBT, EFT, and mindfulness. Whether you’re seeking personal growth, symptom relief, or stronger relationships, I provide a structured, compassionate, and goal-oriented approach to help you achieve lasting emotional well-being.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help you make peace with difficult emotions and thoughts related to depression, anxiety, or suicidal ideation. Together, we focus on accepting what’s beyond your control while learning to take meaningful action toward the life you want to create. I integrate mindfulness to help you stay present and grounded, and CBT strategies to gently challenge unhelpful thought patterns that keep you feeling stuck. My goal is to help you build self-compassion, reconnect with your values, and find strength and purpose even in moments of pain.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to support clients who are facing challenges such as suicidal thoughts, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, stress, trauma from sexual abuse, and difficulties in parenting or relationships. Together, we work to identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthier coping skills, and strengthen communication and emotional well-being. I also integrate mindfulness practices to help clients feel calmer, more grounded, and more present in their daily lives. My approach is warm, nonjudgmental, and collaborative—I meet clients where they are, honor their experiences, and guide them toward healing, resilience, and healthier connections with themselves and others.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy to support clients who are struggling with depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, or intense emotions that can feel overwhelming. In our work together, DBT helps you build practical skills—like managing distress, regulating emotions, improving relationships, and staying grounded in the present. I also weave in mindfulness to create space for calm and clarity, and use CBT techniques to help challenge unhelpful thoughts and patterns. By blending these approaches, my goal is to help you feel more balanced, resilient, and empowered to handle life’s challenges while strengthening your connection to yourself and others.

Couples Counseling

I use an integrative approach in couples therapy that focuses on strengthening communication, rebuilding trust, and deepening emotional connection. I draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman-informed techniques, and Cognitive Behavioral strategies to help couples navigate challenges around finances, parenting, and intimacy. Together, we explore patterns that create distance or conflict and learn healthier ways to express needs, manage stress, and work as a team. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where both partners feel heard and understood while building the skills and connection needed for a stronger, more fulfilling relationship.
