Hi there, my name is Dr. Liz! My passion is working with youth and emerging adults who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, grief and loss, relational conflicts, or life transitions. I value building a strong therapeutic relationship and empowering my clients using the strengths they already have, as they journey towards hope and healing. My hope is that each of my clients feels safe to be their honest, authentic selves with me, and that they feel seen, heard, and understood.
In our first session, we will discuss what brings you to therapy at this time and some of why you might be feeling this way. This will help us to hone in on what it is you'd like to focus on in therapy.
I have clinical experience over the past 5 years working with a diverse range of children, adolescents, and adults in various settings - outpatient clinic, medical hospital, schools. This has developed my passion and skills in working with diverse populations and meeting clients where they are at, according to their specific needs.
I love working with adolescents and emerging adults who may be navigating challenges related to school, family, relationships, career planning, or other life transitions.
I have been using CBT in my practice for the past 5 years. Many clients, ranging from children to adults, have found it to be helpful in managing unhelpful thoughts and finding new thinking patterns. CBT is an approach that examines how thoughts, feelings, and behavior influence each other. Based on this knowledge, we learn coping skills and develop new ways of thinking that can help improve our mood and overall wellbeing.
