The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths as a provider lie in my unique blend of qualifications, experiences, and a deeply personal journey. With an Ed.D in Community Care Counseling and a master's degree in School and Mental Health Counseling from the University of Pennsylvania, I bring a robust educational background to my practice. My certifications in professional life and business coaching showcase a multifaceted skill set. My diverse professional journey, from mental health agencies and hospitals to school counseling, reflects a comprehensive understanding of individual and organizational needs. My specialization in strength-based coaching, existentialism, trauma, multicultural awareness, and cognitive behavioral therapy demonstrates my versatile approach to addressing various aspects of clients' lives. What truly sets me apart is my global perspective, having delivered counseling services to clients across different continents. My proficiency in multicultural counseling therapy reflects a deep understanding of diverse cultural backgrounds. This breadth of experience uniquely positions me to connect with a wide range of clients and provide tailored, effective support on their journeys to well-being and success. On a personal note, I've overcome a rough upbringing with over 14 foster homes before the age of 10, finding healing through my own therapy journey. This transformative experience is what inspired me to become a traumatologist, driven by the desire to offer the same healing to others facing their own challenges.

My treatment methods

Existential

Incorporating existential principles allows me to explore questions of purpose, meaning, and personal responsibility. This philosophical framework helps clients examine their values and choices, fostering self-discovery and empowerment.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice, I use CBT because it offers clients practical and evidence-based tools to address the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, my clients and I work to identify unhelpful thought patterns, challenge cognitive distortions, and develop new ways of thinking that promote healthier emotional and behavioral outcomes. For clients who have experienced trauma, I integrate Trauma-Focused CBT, which provides a structured pathway for processing painful experiences, reducing distress, and building emotional regulation skills. For clients focused on performance—whether in athletics, business, or creative fields—I use CBT to address perfectionism, manage performance anxiety, and replace limiting self-beliefs with more empowering perspectives. My approach is collaborative and goal-oriented. I emphasize not only gaining insight into patterns but also developing concrete skills such as thought tracking, behavioral activation, grounding techniques, and mindfulness-based cognitive strategies. By blending psychoeducation with actionable tools, I help clients build both immediate coping strategies and long-term resilience.

Positive Psychology

When I use Positive Psychology in counseling, I focus on identifying and expanding a client’s strengths, values, and sources of meaning. Rather than only reducing distress, I help clients discover what allows them to thrive—whether that is cultivating gratitude, building resilience, or increasing their sense of purpose. Together, we work to highlight moments of success and growth, and then use those as building blocks for continued well-being. For clients navigating trauma or high-pressure environments, this approach is especially valuable because it reminds them they are more than their pain or stress—they also have strengths, character traits, and inner resources that can be harnessed to promote healing. I use practical Positive Psychology interventions such as strengths assessments, gratitude practices, meaning-focused reflection, and goal setting to help clients shift from surviving to flourishing. In every case, my goal is to balance trauma-informed care with growth-oriented strategies, so that clients not only recover from what they have endured but also move forward with greater confidence, resilience, and hope.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

In my practice, Person-Centered Therapy serves as the foundation for how I relate to clients. I believe that healing and growth happen best in a therapeutic relationship that is built on empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard. My role is not to dictate solutions but to walk alongside clients, offering support, reflection, and guidance as they uncover their own capacity for change. When I work with clients, I strive to create an environment where they feel heard without judgment and supported without pressure. This approach is especially powerful for individuals who may have experienced environments where their voices were silenced or where they felt misunderstood. By honoring each client’s autonomy and perspective, I help them reconnect with their strengths, clarify their values, and move toward choices that align with who they are and who they want to become. Ultimately, Person-Centered Therapy allows me to integrate my clinical expertise with a posture of respect and humility—helping clients to feel empowered, valued, and equipped to build meaningful lives on their own terms.

Psychoanalytic

When I integrate psychoanalytic work, my goal is to help clients make meaning of their experiences by examining how the past informs the present. I invite clients to reflect on early relationships, recurring thought patterns, and unconscious motivations that may influence their current emotions and choices. Together, we explore defenses, attachments, and inner conflicts with the aim of bringing greater self-awareness and freedom from old patterns. In practice, this might involve paying attention to themes that emerge in the therapeutic relationship itself, as well as exploring dreams, symbols, or slips of language that can reveal unconscious material. I balance this with practical strategies from other modalities so that clients gain both insight and tools for everyday life. For many clients, psychoanalytic therapy provides a deeper sense of clarity and self-understanding—helping them uncover the roots of their struggles while also opening the door to new possibilities for healing and growth.
