Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is about building rapport, understanding your needs, and setting a clear path forward. It’s a bit like laying the foundation for the work ahead! Be prepared to share your background, your expectation from your sessions, and goals if you have already.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

In addition to the experiences I have gained over the last 10 years, my culture sensitivity and creating a safe space for all to use is my strength.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I believe each of us deserves to live a beautiful and fulfilling life. Anxiety, Trauma, Depression and even life daily challenges make this task seem impossible. Moreover, when we face several challenges at once we can be so overwhelmed and unable to navigate our life. My goal is to provide you with a safe and non-judgmental space to identify your life obstacles and to guide you to uncover your inner power and personal strength to live a better life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I tend to lean towards CBT in therapy due to the extensive research based evidence of the efficacy of this treatment for depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, OCD, disorder eating and many more. It is also time limited which meats most short term/time limed treatments due to insurance and other factors of the client. I like to work in collaboration with the client and be transparent. CBT is also goal oriented which helps encouraged clients achieve the goals they set for therapy.

Couples Counseling

I love couples work using Gothman method and CBT. Working with couples, I get to see the 'problem' in real time and I can work on helping the couple shift unhealthy cycles as they happen. After the session, I normally assign homework to continue building the skills learned.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Some individuals need to start with accepting their thoughts and feelings as they are. Understanding that thoughts are temporary and do not necessarily define who the person is. Seeing the thoughts as 'mental events' rather than the truth can help reduce the stress and anxiety those thoughts can cause. Focusing on leading life based on values and pursuing goals that align with one's values.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

There are so many skills within DBT framework that I incorporate in many clients treatment plan. Most common skills I use are emotional regulation skills and Interpersonal skills.

Integrative

I found that most times than not, integrating and being flexible with client-focused approach is effective. By blending techniques and ideas from different schools of psychotherapy and creating a personalized treatment plan that addresses the whole person enhances treatment effectiveness. It allows me to address mind, body, and emotions—rather than just their symptoms.
