About me

Hello! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with over 11 years of experience providing a supportive and engaging counseling atmosphere. I believe that meaningful change happens when clients are ready to do the inner work and take an active role in their recovery. My approach is collaborative and respectful—I meet clients where they are while encouraging them to take steps toward growth and healing. I understand that many have experienced stress or trauma, and I strive to create a space where they feel accepted, empowered, and motivated to move forward in their journey.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, I conduct a biopsychosocial assessment to gain a comprehensive understanding of who you are and what brings you to counseling. We’ll explore your background, current concerns, and goals for therapy, focusing on your emotional, physical, social, and environmental well-being. This session is collaborative and conversational; it’s a chance for us to start building trust and for you to share at your own pace. By the end, we’ll work together to outline a plan that supports your healing process and sets a foundation for meaningful growth.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My counseling style is compassionate, collaborative, and conversational. I integrate several evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Adlerian Therapy, and Exposure Therapy, among others. This flexible approach allows me to tailor sessions to each client’s unique needs, strengths, and goals. I focus on helping clients identify patterns of thinking and behavior that may be holding them back, while encouraging self-awareness, resilience, and personal growth. Sessions are active and engaging—I work alongside clients who are ready to do the work, providing both support and challenge as they move toward lasting change. Clients often report leaving sessions feeling heard, understood, and equipped with practical tools they can apply in daily life.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with adults aged 20 to 60 who are motivated to make meaningful changes in their lives and ready to engage fully in the therapeutic process. Many of my clients seek relief from anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, or the effects of trauma. My ideal clients are open to self-exploration and willing to do the inner work required for healing and growth. Whether you’re navigating personal or professional challenges, feeling stuck, or striving to build healthier coping strategies, I offer a supportive and structured environment to help you gain insight, develop practical tools, and move toward lasting emotional wellness. My approach focuses on helping clients understand their thoughts, feelings, and self-sabotaging behaviors, while guiding them toward positive, sustainable change. I work with those who are ready to invest in the process—committed to putting in the necessary effort for long-term growth, rather than seeking a quick fix.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Practicing mindfulness helps you focus on the present moment or your current thoughts, feelings, actions, and physical sensations.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, MBCT, is a modified form of cognitive therapy that incorporates mindfulness practices, such as present-moment awareness, meditation, and breathing exercises.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Aiming to help people objectively evaluate how to think about themselves, others, and events in their lives.

Compassion Focused

Understanding the tug of war that takes place between the different systems and sections of the brain; understanding that everybody has competing fears, fantasies, ambitions, rules for how they should be, and so on.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

Helping clients to manage their OCD thoughts, images, and urges so they eventually stop bothering them as much. This lets them overcome their fear responses and regain the control that OCD tries to take away.

I had two sessions with Ana, and she was nice. However, I felt like she invalidated my feelings and the prior trauma that I've experienced. Her approach is very blunt, which may be the right approach for someone else but not for me. I felt like her response to everything was basically " you just have to get over it". She was also 10 minutes late to both sessions.
