Hi, my name is Jaime! I have been supporting individuals with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and more for 10 years. Throughout my journey, I have been working with people to lessen the stigmatization around mental health and empowering individuals to live a life worth living. I specialize in mindfulness and utilizing DBT techniques in my therapeutic practice. I understand each person is unique and I tailor my approach to best fit the needs of those I am working with to create a more fulfilling life. We all go through times in our lives that are challenging and it can feel as though we are alone. There comes a point where we need more support than our friends and family can provide. I offer a safe and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, validated and consider things from a different perspective. Change is absolutely possible!
In our first session together, I will get to know you. I will ask you to share current struggles you are facing as well as information about your life. This will allow us to work together to identify goals you want to work on during our sessions.
I have received extensive training in DBT and through my training and experience, I offer validation and approach situations from a place of curiosity and without judgment. I believe a therapeutic relationship is a real relationship between two people which can be beneficial with improving other relationships in our lives.
I enjoy working with adults who are struggling to make changes in their lives which are impacting their ability to live a life worth living. By approaching behaviors, emotions and thoughts in a nonjudgmental way, I work with my clients to identify aspects of their behaviors that may be ineffective in working towards achieving goals in their life as well as offering a different perspective into thinking patterns that may be more effective.
I will approach treatment with curiosity and asks questions for clarification. Through use of mindfulness and skill building, we will work together to reduce behaviors that interfere with living a life worth living. Using DBT skills, we can address distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal skills.
Using CBT techniques, we can identify the influence of thoughts, feelings and behaviors as well as reframing and challenging irrational thoughts to create a more realistic perception of self, others and the world around you.
Through SFBT, we can work together to identify solutions to issues and steps that can be taken to work towards a solution.
This treatment method can assist with exploring change through identifying discrepancies and building on individual's goals to increase changes in their lives.
Using this treatment approach, there is an understanding that each person knows themself best and through collaboration and unconditional positive regard, individuals are empowered to make the changes they are looking for in their lives.
