About me

Hello! My name is Jamie Becker. I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with 8 years of experience. I come from a background in community mental health, where I have treated a wide variety of mental health disorders, both in inpatient and outpatient settings. My goal is to help you navigate life’s challenges through compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. I will create an inclusive space where you feel seen, heard, and empowered in your journey toward mental wellness. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, or just feeling overwhelmed, I’m here to help you understand your symptoms, explore treatment options, and move toward lasting healing.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I believe mental health care should be personalized, collaborative, and stigma-free. My approach combines psychiatric medication management with therapeutic support, lifestyle education, and a deep respect for each individual’s unique story. Our first session includes a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, where I learn about you and your goals for treatment. Depending on your needs, we will also discuss medication management and psychoeducation. I may also coordination with therapists or primary care providers and offer holistic recommendations (sleep, nutrition, mindfulness) to be able to give the best treatment that is individualized to your mental health and wellbeing. We will work together to explore medication options in a thoughtful, collaborative way, heal from past trauma without feeling re-traumatized, rebuild confidence, motivation, and self-trust, and help move from survival mode into a life that feels intentional and meaningful.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I utilize Motivational Interviewing (MI) in my practice. Rather than telling clients what to do, I use MI to draw out their own reasons for change, highlight their strengths, and help them build confidence in their ability to take the next steps in their mental health journey. My goal is to create a nonjudgmental space where you feel empowered to move at your own pace — toward the changes that matter most to you. I also use Trauma Informed Care (TIC) in my practice. Rather than asking “What’s wrong with you?” trauma-informed care asks “What happened to you?” — and more importantly, “How has that experience shaped your life, your choices, and your sense of safety?” Many people — even those who don’t identify as “traumatized” — can benefit from trauma-informed care.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I’m passionate about working with clients who value a collaborative, nonjudgmental, and empowerment-based approach to mental health care. If you’re looking for a provider who will listen deeply, respect your autonomy, and support you in taking real steps forward — I’d be honored to work with you. In my practice, you will never feel like you are "just a number." To be able to provide you with individualized and holistic treatment options, I want to know the real you, not just an abridged version of yourself. I am only offering telehealth services at this time, but I hope to start in-person treatment once I have secured an office. I am currently able to see patients located in Indiana. *Due to a noncompete clause with my former employer, you must physically be located OUTSIDE of Dearborn, Ripley, Franklin, Ohio, and Switzerland Counties in Indiana at the time of our appointment. I am also in the process of obtaining my Ohio licensure, which will be able to expand my practice setting.

My treatment methods

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is an essential piece of my practice. It's a collaborative, person-centered approach that helps individuals explore their own motivations for change — without pressure, judgment, or confrontation.

Trauma Informed Care

I recognize that trauma — whether from childhood experiences, relationships, or life events — can deeply impact a person’s emotional, psychological, and even physical well-being. My top priorities to successful treatment are creating a safe environment, building trust, empowering you, and avoiding retraumatization.
