Deborah here. I look forward to helping clients with a variety of issues. My career began in 2005 which includes working with adults and couples, bringing life experiences and knowledge to the counseling room. Working environments include Addiction treatment, incarceration, and the girl next door, so to speak. Every client is unique, and you are too. We will find the right interventions and tools to help you develop and increase quality of life.
The first session is for intake information. This helps us get to know each other and determine where to begin and with which approach. The different approaches will be discussed. Whether virtual or in office sessions, confidentiality is a priority.
My life experiences, empathy, acceptance, and desire to help others is what makes me different. I listen to the client feedback to understand when to pivot approaches to what is best for you. Counseling is a therapeutic relationship. That means that I do not just listen. I communicate with you.
Adults and couples: You may have tried counseling before with little success. No matter who you are, there is hope and help. Although counseling is a process, it is well worth the time and effort. With me there is safety to talk about your issues, fears, or secrets. I would love to help you; it is never too late.
CBT is used to restructure that thoughts that drive our emotions. From there, we are able to adjust resulting responses and behaviors.
Many couples are caught in a whirlwind of confusion, loss of control, and an inability to communicate with each other. My job is to help you identify the main issues and work towards resolution and coping skills.
EMDR has been quite effective with PTSD and traumatic experiences. This is an intervention preformed in-person.
Unfortunately, everyone enters a period of grief in their lives. I help you walk through the time and understand the impact of grief on brain functioning.
Low Energy Neurofeedback System (LENS) is the system used. This is an intervention conducted in-person. Helps with symptoms resulting from PTSD, ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, Emotional Dysregulation, Sleep Disturbance, and memory function.
