As a somatic psychotherapist and longtime creative, I bring together psychology and lived, embodied experience. My background as an actor, writer, and director shapes how I work with the unfolding story of self as it’s felt in the body—moment by moment. Therapy with me emphasizes curiosity, presence, and deep listening to what wants to emerge through sensation, emotion, and relationship.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and to begin creating a sense of safety and collaboration. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, and any concerns or questions you may have about the process. Because my work is somatic, we may also gently notice what’s happening in your body as we talk—such as sensations, emotions, or shifts in energy or breath—but there’s no pressure to do anything unfamiliar. Everything moves at your pace, and you’re always in control of what we explore. You don’t need to prepare or know what to say. The goal of the first session isn’t to “fix” anything, but to begin listening together—to your experience, your nervous system, and what feels most important right now. By the end, we’ll have a clearer sense of whether working together feels like a good fit and what next steps might look like.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Clients often tell me they feel deeply listened to and not rushed. I’m good at helping people notice what’s actually happening for them in the moment—and at staying with difficult or subtle experiences in a way that feels supportive rather than overwhelming.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I’m especially well suited to work with people who feel “stuck” despite insight, who sense that something important is happening in their body that words alone haven’t resolved. Many of my clients are navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, creative blocks, identity transitions, or the effects of trauma, and are curious about slowing down to listen to their lived, moment-to-moment experience.

My treatment methods

Somatic

The body is ally, the gateway to presence, the beginning of emotional experience. Working with breath and sensation can help us progress toward healing, to be in a different relationship with moment-to-moment life as it happens.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help clients shift their relationship to thoughts and behaviors by deepening awareness of what thoughts are running the show and providing tools to loosen the grip of automatic thoughts and provide more of a sense of choice, moving toward explicit goals, supporting growth

Couples Counseling

At the core of this work is often the way we communicate with each other. I have been using the work of John and Julie Gottman as a template for building awareness of communication patterns, how we can work together to improve connection and feelings of security even in times of stress, grief, or upheaval.

Peter and I have been meeting for about a month now, I feel as though he listens and hears me while taking an approach of challenging myself and my boundaries. I feel respected by Peter when he speaks to me. All in all Peter is encouraging and one of the better therapists I’ve had a pleasure to know.
