New to Grow
I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor striving to help individuals who are struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, life transitions, substance use, and/or overall general mental health. I am passionate about helping others and providing a safe space to navigate through the challenges of life. Your mental health is important, and I'm glad you're exploring options for help. I offer evening and weekend appointments.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session is focused on information gathering. I will be asking a lot of questions to get to know you and your history. We will then work to identify what your goals will look like. My hope from here is to have built a connection to be able to work together moving forward.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I am able to connect with a vast variety of individuals. At the end of the day, we are all human beings who go through struggles in life and deserve a space to be heard, to be understood, and to be able to discuss freely what we are experiencing without judgement. I hold a safe space to build a therapeutic relationship with my clients and to make them feel comfortable in what could be their most vulnerable moments. I am person centered -- we will work on what is most important to you.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work well with those who are open minded and understanding that different things work for different people; we're all unique! I work to help clients take steps towards meeting their goals and reducing stress in their lives. If you are open, motivated, and do well with humor sprinkled in your therapy journey, we would be a good match.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have utilized CBT throughout my entirety of providing treatment. CBT helps individuals understand their thought patterns and how it affects their moods, their relationships, and their overall wellbeing. CBT can help with a wide variety of conditions, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational Interviewing (MI) can help individuals understand their goals and what might be getting in the way of achieving their goals. I use MI to help individuals who have a fear of change, or ambivalence to change, better understand their thoughts and commitments to making life changes.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I have always practiced person-centered therapy with my clients as it is a nonjudgemental, safe, and genuinue approach to helping individuals who are navigating challenges in their lives. This method also allows clients to achieve self-actualization, or those "aha!" moments.
