Hi, my name is Jen Bowman and I have been a Social Worker since 2007. I am passionate about helping young adults and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, OCD, and grief and loss. I have worked in various settings throughout the years including foster care, out-patient mental health clinics, dialysis clinics, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes. We can all feel depressed or anxious at times, but when we feel that way for a prolonged period, it may be time to consider getting support. People suffering from depression often experience symptoms such as isolation, negative self-talk, low motivation, sleep disturbance, low energy, hopelessness, helplessness, etc. When someone is suffering from anxiety, they often experience excessive worrying, agitation, irritability, restlessness, intrusive thoughts, difficulty concentrating, difficulty in social situations, panic attacks, etc. These are all things that I can help you with.
Therapy can give you the tools you need to work through symptoms of depression and anxiety. I am here to help you increase self-awareness and a sense of purpose. When you work with me, I hope you will find that I offer an unbiased perspective and a non-judgmental approach. I believe there is a strong mind body connection, and therefore focus on addressing your mental and physical health. My hope is to build a strong foundation for us to set achievable goals. In working together, you’ll find me to be down to earth, empathetic, engaged and committed to your well-being.
I utilize a variety of treatment methods including Brainspotting, ACT, Mindfulness, Solution-Focused, Supportive, and Person-Centered.
I believe my biggest strengths are meeting the client where they are. I am a good listener, empathetic, and caring.
