LMHC, 9 years of experience
New to Grow
Hi, my name is Dr. Nixia Ordaya Quigley. I hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Carlos Albizu University in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I completed an APA-accredited internship and a postdoctoral fellowship in Trauma-Informed Care, and I am currently licensed as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Massachusetts. I am deeply passionate about providing quality, compassionate care to underserved and marginalized communities. As a bilingual clinician (English and Spanish), I strive to create a therapeutic environment that is inclusive, culturally sensitive, and empowering. My clinical approach integrates evidence-based modalities such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and other third-wave CBT approaches. My goal is to help clients build insight, resilience, and practical tools to navigate life’s challenges while honoring their unique stories and strengths.
Our first session is a space to slow down and focus on you. We’ll explore what brings you to therapy, what’s been feeling heavy or unclear, and what you’d like to achieve. There’s no pressure to have the right words — just an open conversation where you can be honest and heard. I’ll ask questions to better understand your story, your goals, and what support looks like for you. Together, we’ll start building a clear plan that feels realistic and meaningful. By the end of our session, you’ll have a sense of direction and a few practical takeaways to help you begin feeling more grounded and hopeful. Therapy is a collaboration — and this first step is about beginning that partnership with trust, clarity, and purpose.
As a therapist, my greatest strengths lie in creating a professional, supportive space where insight leads to real change. I combine evidence-based strategies with genuine connection, helping clients move from awareness to action; Helping you build coping skills, communication tools and self care habits that actually work in your daily life. My goal is not just to help you get through hard times- it’s to help you rediscover your inner strengths and confidence so you can move forward with purpose. I integrate modern therapeutic methods with a personalized, goal-oriented focus. Every session is adapted to your needs, ensuring that your time in therapy is purposeful and effective.
My ideal clients are individuals who are ready to explore themselves on a deeper level—those seeking greater self-understanding, healing, and growth. I’m especially passionate about supporting members of the BIPOC, Latinx, and other underserved communities who may not always feel seen or heard in traditional spaces. Together, we’ll create a space that honors your identity, experiences, and story, while working toward meaningful change and emotional well-being.
DBT teaches practical skills for managing emotions, communicating effectively, and staying grounded during stressful moments. It’s a supportive, structured approach that helps you build balance, self-awareness, and stronger relationships.
CBT-I is an effective, short-term approach that helps you reset your sleep patterns and improve rest naturally. We’ll address habits, thoughts, and routines that interfere with sleep and build lasting tools to help you fall asleep more easily and wake up feeling restored.
CPT helps you process and make sense of difficult or traumatic experiences. By exploring how certain thoughts and beliefs may be keeping you stuck, we work together to create healthier, more balanced perspectives that support healing and peace of mind.
CBT is a practical, goal-oriented approach that helps you understand how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors connect. Together, we work on identifying unhelpful patterns and building new ways of thinking and responding that support your well-being and confidence.
