I specialize in working with adults experiencing trauma, depression, and life phase transitions and transitions. When working with children, I specialize in helping them, and their caregivers, learn how to recognize and cope with their emotions, communicate their needs, and improve their ability to solve problems. I have worked with adults, adolescents, and children in various settings including hospital and community clinic settings. I have been independently licensed and providing therapy since 2017 and it has been a great pleasure to join my client's in their healing process and I look forward to getting to be a part of yours as well!
In our first session together, I will ask you questions to get to know you and your situation better and I will tell you about my approach to counseling. At the end of our first session, we will clarify what concerns you would like to address first and discuss the scheduling pace that best fits your needs and availability.
My approach to counseling is primarily person-centered, meaning I believe you’re the expert in what is and is not working for you and I will work with you to achieve what wellness means to you. I am also trained in providing EMDR, CBT, and solution-focused therapy.
I believe my biggest strength as a counselor is a willingness to meet others where they're at. I don't ask my clients to be anyone other than themselves. I believe we can change aspects of our lives that are no longer serving us without insulting or changing who we are as a person.
