New to Grow
Each person has a natural inclination toward wholeness. Sometimes that movement gets stifled—by circumstances, stress, or seasons of life—and counseling can help at any age. My office is a place to explore who you are and address what’s getting in the way—whether fear, trauma, mental health concerns, or the very practical question of what to do when your child has a meltdown in the grocery aisle. Therapy with me is a partnership. You’re the expert on your life; I bring training, perspective, and practical tools. We’ll blend skills you can use right away with deeper work at a pace that feels safe. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Existential Therapy, and Jungian psychology, informed by Stoic and existential philosophies. As a certified yoga instructor, I integrate awareness, meditation, and gentle movement when helpful. I’m trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and with children I use child-centered play therapy. I’m licensed in Ohio and Kentucky.
Our first session is a longer visit—about 60–90 minutes—so I can understand you and what’s bringing you in. I’ll ask a range of questions about your history, strengths, and current concerns, and we’ll clarify what you hope to achieve. You’ll have time to ask any questions, and we’ll set initial goals together. Follow-up sessions are typically 50–55 minutes.
I believe in people. Sometimes we lose faith in ourselves, or maybe we grew up in environments that didn’t teach us how much power we truly have. My role is simply to help people reconnect with what they already possess. At the same time, some solid coping skills can go a long way. I tend to blend the practical with the profound — integrating evidence-based tools with a deep respect for each person’s inner wisdom and capacity for healing.
You don’t have to have it all together to start. Motivation helps, but it isn’t required—showing up is enough. I’m a good fit for people navigating depression, anxiety, unresolved grief or trauma, distressing habits, life transitions, and parenting challenges, as well as those seeking deeper meaning and connection. I blend practical coping skills with holistic, evidence-based care so you can feel steadier day-to-day while building the deeper changes you want.
We may explore the ACT Matrix and use the therapy model it in conjunction with similar therapies.
Therapy is often heavy on mindful awareness and other DBT skills are taught as needed
EMDR can be used to treat trauma as well as many other concerns.
