Inner work is hard. I hope that my authenticity and humor create a brave space for others to bring their full selves to the session as well. I pull from numerous therapeutic modalities and tailor treatment to the client, however I tend to focus most treatment on mind body connection using a bottom up approach rather than a top down approach. I look forward to meeting you and walking alongside you as you navigate whatever treatment goals you bring to therapy.
The first session will focus on rapport building and information gathering about mental health history and current concerns to make sure we are a good fit.
Others I have worked with have described me as a warm, humorous, and an intuitive provider.
I work well with high performing women who are struggling with over-functioning and over-performing. I also work well with couples of color navigating unique challenges rooted in inter-generational trauma and who struggle with maladaptive coping skills due to feeling easily overwhelmed when trying to navigate conflict. While I work well with most people, these are areas I feel especially skilled in.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
I have completed an Emotionally Focused Therapy externship that specialized in using EFT to help couples and individuals of color.
Trauma Informed Care
I am skilled in identifying how trauma is impacting ones functioning and/or making appropriate referrals to specific trauma focused modalities as needed.
Attachment-based
I use attachment theory as a framework for how one experiences and interacts with the world.
Compassion Focused
Self compassion and Somatic experiencing practices are two modalities I use to help clients cope with intense thoughts, feelings, and sensations in their body.
Couples Counseling
I am trained in working with couples of color and struggles unique to couples of color.
