LCSW, 10 years of experience
New to Grow
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and I value using a whole-person and empathic approach in every session. As an LCSW, my goal is to help individuals improve their mental health, address relationship difficulties, and adjust to challenging life changes. I approach therapy from a trauma-informed and client-centered perspective, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused and Strength-Based interventions
Introduction of self and role. Getting to know one another to make sure it is a good fit. Developing goals to work on together.
When I was younger, my mom suffered from cancer, and a social worker helped connect us to resources and provided us with the emotional support we needed during the difficult times. As I worked with youth, I developed a passion to work with the disadvantaged, including the incarcerated population, which has limited support and often resources. Oftentimes, addressing mental health can help problem solve and address multiple challenges in one's life, such as substance abuse.
I have experience working with various populations ranging from transitional-age youth (15-25) to adults and older adults. I have experience working in mental health, medical social work, and substance abuse, both inpatient and outpatient. I have experience in crisis intervention and working with various units, including individuals, families, and groups. I enjoy working with those experiencing anxiety and depression, as well as grief and loss, and adjustment disorder.
I enjoy helping clients understand how their thoughts impact their feelings and behaviors which then helps them be more in control. When clients learn about CBT they can also learn skills to help them cope and improve their quality of life.
Life happens and knowing you are not alone is helpful. Together we can problem solve and look for solutions to get you back on track.
