New to Grow
Welcome I am glad you are here. I am an expressive arts therapist, and I have dedicated my career to anti-oppression work. Creativity heals and can deepen the work you want to do, for those that want to explore in that way. I view therapy as both personal, interpersonal, social and that systemic issues impact healing. Therapy with me is honest, we may laugh together, or I may hold with you your biggest sorrows. You are the leader and I am here to facilitate and co-create the change you wish to achieve. We will chip away at stuckness together. I have also worked with people in county mental health who did not have a choice about being in therapy.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
At our first session we will focus on getting to know you, what makes you who you are, what your goals are for therapy. We will also be focused on you getting to know me and how I work. This is because the relationship between therapist and client is the most important part of therapy. It can take time to build, but is a priority for me to make sure we are a good match.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I am deeply empathic and able to connect with all sorts of people. I am creative and funny. People feel deeply understood, sometimes for the first time. I know when to let you lead and I can also know when to push or direct more. People feel more fulfilled in their lives and eventually feel able to decrease our sessions or stop therapy all together because they meet their goals.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
You are motivated for change, even if you are feeling hopeless, incredibly stuck, or unsure how to get there. You may have been in therapy before or this might be your first time.
Relational
Relational Psychotherapy works because the therapeutic relationship heals and is a place to practice skills to eventually bring outside sessions.
