My name is Shenequa Williams, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Clinical Drug and Alcohol Counselor (LCDAC). I believe that everyone has the capacity to live a happy, meaningful, and fulfilling life. My approach is grounded in the understanding that mental and emotional well-being are essential to overall health and quality of life. I view therapy as a collaborative and empowering process—one that supports self-awareness, resilience, and lasting change. By creating a supportive and nonjudgmental space, I help clients work toward balance, healing, and personal growth.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Therapy is most effective when you feel safe, heard, and supported. I take a collaborative approach, working alongside you to understand what you would like to change and how we can achieve those goals together. Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We’ll explore what’s been weighing on you, discuss your goals, and begin developing a plan that feels comfortable and aligned with your needs moving forward.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
With years of experience in the field, I have developed strong skills in helping clients uncover the root causes of their concerns and gain deeper insight into their thoughts, emotions, and patterns. I strive to create a space where clients feel understood and empowered. Together, we build practical coping strategies, strengthen self-awareness, and work toward meaningful, sustainable change.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
If you feel stuck in negative thought patterns or overwhelmed by anxiety, stress, or low mood, CBT can help. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients understand how their thoughts affect their emotions and behaviors and how small, intentional changes can lead to real relief. My approach is collaborative, practical, and focused on helping you feel more confident, capable, and in control of your life.
EMDR
If past experiences are still affecting how you feel, think, or react, EMDR therapy may help. I use EMDR to support clients in safely processing traumatic or distressing memories so they no longer feel stuck in the past. Many people experience relief from anxiety, PTSD symptoms, and emotional distress, and gain a greater sense of clarity, confidence, and emotional balance.
Motivational Interviewing
If part of you wants change but another part feels hesitant or unsure, Motivational Interviewing can help. I use MI to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your goals, build motivation, and move forward with greater confidence and clarity without pressure or shame.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
If your emotions feel intense or hard to manage, you’re not alone and support is available. I use DBT to help clients develop skills to cope with stress, navigate relationships, and respond to challenges with greater balance and confidence. This structured, supportive approach can help you feel more in control and build a life that feels worth living.
