I am here to help you through this part of your journey. I am available to listen and allow you to be heard, understood, and validated. I want to help you make positive changes to feel better and have a different outlook on life. I received a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas Pan American in 2014 and started working on my Clinical license in 2019. I received my License in Clinical Social Work in 2021.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. You can expect a friendly and inviting environment. I will try to ensure you feel safe and able to express yourself freely. Most clients report enjoying their sessions as they feel comfortable. I approach goal setting as working as team, I may offer suggestions, however, the client has the ultimate decision-making power.
Having worked with various individuals, I have the ability to listen and provide support to helping you (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress.
I decided to become a therapist after working for several years with children who experienced some sort of trauma in their lives. After I began working with children, I started to work with adults and saw the need to offer my assistance and help empower a client so they may be able to make the changes necessary in their lives. I have experience in working with adolescents, men, women, couples and elderly patients. I have previously worked with the Department of Veteran Affairs, Texas Department of Protective Services and as an independent contractor. I approach goal setting as working as team, I may offer suggestions, however, the client has the ultimate decision-making power.
I will provide therapeutic interactions based on your needs, history, perspectives, and goals - as a team effort. I may implement Strength Based, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person Centered Therapy (PCT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) or a combination of modalities in sessions.
In my practice, I like to use CBT techniques to help clients identify negative thought patterns and replace them with healthier beliefs and behaviors. This method is particularly effective for those looking to manage stress, overcome anxiety, and achieve career success.
I also utilize Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), which is future-focused. There is not much that can be done to change the past, except to try and understand it. Time is better spent looking toward the future, setting goals, building hope, and identifying the life that is desired.
