I am a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Alabama. I specialize in working with children and adults who experience anxiety, ADHD, behavioral challenges, low self-esteem, depression, and life transitions. I help clients better understand their struggles, identify triggers, and develop effective coping strategies tailored to their unique needs. As individuals, there is no "one size fits all," way to live or maneuver through life, we simply live it one day at a time to the best of our abilities. I take this same approach to providing service to my clients.
In our initial sessions, we will focus on getting to know one another, understanding your story, and clarifying what you hope to achieve through therapy. My goal is to meet you where you are and support you in reaching where you want to be.
What makes my practice unique is my commitment to walking alongside my clients on their journey toward healing, growth, and self-actualization. I am deeply passionate about this work because I love helping individuals uncover their strengths and achieve their personal goals.
I love working with children and adults across various demographics and cultures who may be struggling with anxiety, ADHD, behavioral challenges, low self-esteem, depression, or life transitions. These clients desire change, but may be unsure of how to achieve it.
I’ve been using CBT in my treatment toolbox for the past five years. It’s helped clients challenge their negative or reoccurring thoughts and manage the symptoms associated with them, as well as, change the way in which they viewed themselves and situations. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you improve your life and lead you to finding your balance.
Throughout my career as a therapist, I have utilized psychoeducation with clients from various populations and demographics, who may be struggling with a multitude of issues or diagnoses. Often clients may not understand their diagnosis or symptoms, and it is through psychoeducation, that I assist them learning about their diagnosis, and providing them with support to better cope and understand their diagnosis or illness, to improve their overall well-being.
As a person who enjoys listening to others, I’ve been using Person-Centered Therapy in some form, for the entirety of my career. Listening to client's share their unique experiences, while growing and discovering more about themselves is amazing. It’s helped dozens of clients find their inner strength and learn to trust themselves and their own decisions, as they make their way through this life.
Helping others brings me great joy. Even more joyful to me, is assisting clients with identifying solutions, rather than focusing on problems. SFBT assists clients with focusing on the future and learning how to, not only achieve change, but how to sustain those desired behavioral changes.
