Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LPCC) based in California and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas. I obtained my Master's degree from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology and have been practicing for 18 years. I specialize in assisting adults dealing with challenges such as addiction, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and trauma, helping them overcome obstacles preventing them from living life to the fullest.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, we’ll start with a brief introduction. I’ll focus on creating a safe and nonjudgmental environment while we gather background information. This will help us build a solid foundation for understanding your unique situation and needs. Together, we’ll collaborate to create a relevant and meaningful plan we can work through in our follow-up sessions.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I am committed to and passionate about instilling hope and empowering my clients to overcome life’s challenges by helping them recognize and utilize their strengths. I have taught coping strategies that enable them to rise above difficulties and effectively manage stress, anxiety, and difficult emotions.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I enjoying serving adults facing challenges such as addiction, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and trauma. My clients are individuals who are open to exploring their emotions and experiences and are motivated to make positive changes in their lives. They may be seeking a supportive environment to understand their struggles better and are ready to use their strengths and/or spirituality as tools for healing.
EMDR
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) has been a powerful tool in my therapeutic practice, providing significant relief to my clients dealing with trauma, grief, anxiety, and depression. The ability of EMDR to address PTSD symptoms like flashbacks, nightmares, and severe anxiety is indeed remarkable. By helping you process traumatic memories, EMDR facilitates healthier emotional processing and integration, which can lead to profound improvements in your overall well-being. EMDR's ability to help clients reprocess and reframe traumatic experiences can be transformative, especially when combined with other supportive practices like spirituality. Many clients find that combining EMDR with spiritual practices or beliefs can enhance their healing process, offering additional layers of support and meaning.
Christian Counseling
I am committed to establishing a supportive and nurturing environment where we can delve into your spiritual beliefs and practices to seek comfort and guidance, connect more deeply with your purpose, and find meaningful ways to address your challenges. In our sessions, we may utilize practices such as meditation with scriptures, mindfulness, or prayer. Additionally, we will explore spiritual teachings that resonate with you. Creating a safe space for exploration is vital, as it allows you to discuss your struggles and aspirations openly without fear of judgment.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have been treating anxiety and depression for over 15 years using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). We will use CBT to help you identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns and beliefs. By addressing these cognitive distortions, CBT aims to modify how you perceive and respond to various situations, which can alleviate uncomfortable emotions and negative behaviors.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
When facing tough situations, we may find it hard to handle intense emotions and behaviors. I can use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to teach you strategies for understanding and managing intense emotions, practicing mindfulness to observe your experiences and respond more thoughtfully, distress tolerance to help cope with difficult emotions and situations without engaging in negative behaviors, and skills to improve communication and relationships.
