New to Grow
I enjoy Helping clients get out of survival mode using brain-based, nervous system therapy. Many people I work with describe feeling stuck in survival mode, where their body never fully relaxes and their emotions feel either too intense or completely numb. I specialize in helping pre/teens/young adults calm their nervous systems and find relief from anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and trauma-related symptoms using brain-based, experiential approaches. My work is grounded in trauma treatment, but we move at a pace that feels safe and manageable—without needing to relive painful experiences over and over.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
I often begin by using tools that increase your mind-body connection in my practice. This allows you learn to identify the signs of a dysregulated nervous system and begin to apply tools to assist you in returning to stability. I integrate strategies from several theories to meet your individual needs. Some that I use most often include ART, ACT, CBT, and motivational interviewing.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Therapy with me is not about pushing through or rehashing everything that's ever happened to you. Instead, we focus on helping your body and brain process what they've been holding onto so you can feel calmer, more present, and more like yourself. Our journey will start by gathering your important history and working together to make a treatment plan that meets your needs.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
Many of the challenges my clients face stem from chronic stress, relational wounds, or past experiences that taught their nervous system to stay on high alert—even if they don’t identify with the word “trauma.” Together, we work to help the body learn that it’s safe again. My approach tends to be a good fit for people who want practical, body-based tools. Using polyvagal-informed therapy and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) I help clients: Feel more grounded and regulated in their bodies. Reduce anxiety, panic, and emotional reactivity. Resolve distressing memories without becoming overwhelmed. Reconnect with a sense of safety, control, and confidence.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I have training in ACT and identifying values and preparing for committed action toward your values. This assists in aligning of your goals and actions with what really matters to you.
Mind-body approach
I use Accelerated Resolution Therapy to help process traumatic memories and sensations without having to relive them repeatedly. I work from a polyvagal lens, brain-based, bottom up, theory of therapy.
Motivational Interviewing
I use motivational interviewing to help clients resolve ambivalence and strengthen their internal motivation to change behavior.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I believe the therapeutic alliance is the foundation of therapy and believe in showing up as my authentic self so that you can too.
