New to Grow
Compassionate, creative therapists, experienced with a diverse range of clients and issues, can help you work through disappointments and setbacks and move forward with strategies, courage, and optimism. That's what I do, and I love it. I came to this vocation after 30 years as a writer and editor focused on women's and children's health issues and on nonprofit, community-based services. Service is the thread that runs through my work experience.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
At our first session, after I gather some basic information from you, we'll discuss how I can help you and make a treatment plan together. Among the tools I use are CBT, DBT, attachment theory, Gottman couples counseling, narrative therapy, and trauma-informed therapy.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I bring a lot of lived experience to my practice: personal challenges with anxiety, depression, and ADHD; career change, job loss, financial insecurity, and divorce; and the loss of loved ones from illness and suicide. I merge my experience, education, and intuition to understand your challenges and help you address them. I am also relaxed, relatable, and funny.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
For many of us, managing the day-to-day can be really hard. You have plans and good intentions, but you’ve lost something important: a sense of perspective, your ability to improvise, your sense of humor, the energy to just get out of bed. I help clients with anxiety, depression, communication skills, ADHD, stress management, career discernment, chronic illness, job dissatisfaction, relationship and marital issues, family dysfunction, aging, grief, and life transitions. If you feel alone, if you are struggling to take care of yourself and your family, or if you just can't figure things out, please reach out to me. I can help you find your way forward and even enjoy the journey. My mantra: Mental health is no joke, but laughter is good medicine.
Eclectic
Every client has unique needs and requires a personalized therapeutic approach. I utilize a wide variety of therapeutic models and proven methods to customize each client's treatment plan. Some of the approaches I use most often are CBT, mindfulness, psychodynamic theory, and attachment theory.
