Hi my name is Robin Carroll. I am the graduate of Marywood University with a Masters in Social Work. I specialize in trauma and anxiety. I help people identify the root causes of their anxiety and trauma s and work through them together. I started out my career as a care manager and I've worked with individuals that have been diagnosed with life-altering diseases, I have worked in trauma in an ER hospital, I have worked as a liaison for different communities, and I have worked in a mental health clinic.
The first session is usually boring it's a lot of information gathering including what they expect from me, what brings them into therapy, and how they think I can help.
I have been working in the field in one way or another for the past 20 years. I have wealth of information that is proven invaluable to assist people that are really struggling with life's challenges.
By using CBT, I help individuals understand and challenge negative thoughts and thinking patterns and develop positive thinking patterns and coping skills.
I Use DBT by actively teaching clients mindfulness techniques, emotion regulation strategies, distress tolerance skills, and interpersonal effectiveness tools to help them manage difficult emotions, cope with stress, and navigate interpersonal relationships effectively.
By targeting the underlying causes of emotional distress, EMDR can help clients process traumatic experiences, reframe negative beliefs, and reduce symptoms in a shorter time frame compared to traditional therapies
