LMHC, 10 years of experience
New to Grow
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC), licensed in the state of Florida. I have over 10 years of experience in the field of counseling. Before counseling, I served honorably in the military. I have traveled to several countries and lived in Japan for 5 years throughout my military career. My military experience allowed me to expand my cultural view of the world. In the career field of counseling, it is important to have a cultural view because it promotes empathy and increases inclusivity. I emphasize a client-centered approach, fostering a safe and supportive environment where you feel heard and validated. I incorporate therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and expressive arts. I also enjoy using a narrative approach, as I believe each client’s story is an essential part of the healing process.
In our first session, I will introduce myself and focus on building rapport. I will work with you to complete an assessment that allows me to understand more about you and the reasons that led you into counseling. We will review confidentiality, discuss your expectations, and gather information about your needs. I will explain the therapy process, collaborate with you on setting goals, and ensure any questions or concerns you have are addressed.
My passion for therapy stems from a deep desire to help others navigate challenges and improve their well-being. I find fulfillment in witnessing personal transformations and the resilience people demonstrate as they work through struggles utilizing the Cognitive Behavioral Therapeutic Approach. I have observed so many clients gain insight understanding how their core beliefs conflict with external factors leading to distress. My drive for this work is rooted in empathy, compassion, and a passion for mental health. I am dedicated to modeling healthy connections, making a positive impact, and supporting meaningful growth.
I am best positioned to serve prospective clients who are seeking a collaborative, truthful, and transparent approach addressing issues related to anxiety, depression, stress, grief, work conflict, and relationship issues.
